Cookies
The cookies MapleDent Cloud sets for clinic staff and for patients, what each one is for and how long it lasts, and what this website keeps in your browser.
Marketing website
This website doesn’t set cookies of its own. It keeps one item in your browser’s local storage:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
mdc-region-notice | Remembers that you have seen the notice shown to visitors outside Canada or in Quebec, so it isn’t shown again. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
To decide whether to show that notice, the website asks our hosting provider which country and province your connection comes from. The answer isn’t stored.
Provider access
Cookies MapleDent sets for clinic staff:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
MapleDental.Auth | Keeps a staff member signed in | Session cookie: deleted when you close the browser. The sign-in inside it also ends after 2 hours of inactivity, and 12 hours after signing in at most. |
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.<suffix> | Blocks forged form submissions, such as at sign-in, sign-out and password change | Session cookie: deleted when you close the browser |
The sign-in cookie can’t be read by scripts on the page and is only sent over secure connections. It is checked against the account every 15 minutes, so a password reset or a deactivated account ends the session. There is no “remember me” option.
Patient portal
Cookies MapleDent sets for patients:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
MapleDental.PatientAuth | Keeps a patient signed in, separately from staff sign-in | Session cookie: deleted when you close the browser. |
Links sent to patients that don’t need a sign-in, such as online booking and forms, set only the form-protection cookie.
