Dental recall and appointment reminders, sent for you.

MapleDent Cloud texts patients when they are due and before each appointment. Recall, or recare, is part of the software, with no separate program to buy.

Recall reminders

When a patient is due, MapleDent sends a text with a link to book online. The patient picks a time and books it themselves.

  • Appointments are offered at a time that works for the patient, from the availability the clinic has on file.
  • Patients can text back the same number, or update their availability in the patient portal.
  • Recare lists show who is due and not yet booked.

Appointment reminders

Automatic text reminders go out before each appointment.

Texting is two-way. Staff text patients and read their replies in MapleDent, with templates, scheduled texts and quiet hours.

When a patient cancels

Record when each patient can come in and who they prefer to see. When a slot opens, patients whose availability matches get a text with a booking link, and the first to book takes it.

What it costs

Recall reminders, appointment reminders, two-way texting and cancellation recovery are part of MapleDent Cloud, starting at $270 a month for dental practices and $180 a month for denturist and hygiene clinics. MapleDent Lite, for hygiene clinics, has manual recare and leaves out everything that runs on text messages.

What recall is

Recall, also called recare, is how a clinic brings patients back when their next hygiene visit or checkup is due. Done by hand it means lists, phone calls and voicemail. Done by software, the patient gets a text when they are due and books from it.

What the patient receives

The text names the clinic, says when the patient was due, and says there are openings that match their time and provider preferences. It asks whether their availability has changed, and ends with their booking link.

The patient books from the text in the same moment. Nobody has to remember to call back later.

Replies come back to the team

Patients can text back the same number, and your team sees it and replies without leaving MapleDent. Templates, scheduled texts and quiet hours are part of two-way texting.

Check-ins after treatment

For denturist clinics, post-op messages check in with patients automatically, on the schedule the clinic sets. They ask whether the denture is fitting right, and get the patient back in the chair if it isn't.

Texting rules in Canada

  • Text messages include an opt-out, for example replying STOP.
  • Message content is screened to support compliance with Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL) and carrier requirements.
  • Text messages travel over phone networks and aren't encrypted the way other data is, so sensitive clinical information should not be sent by text.

Texts are delivered through a Canadian provider, listed on the subprocessors page.
